Descriptions:
Helen first started her quest to be a broadcaster at the age of 18 when she attended Newcastle – Under-lyme College it was here she studied Photography, TV and Video and Radio and Journalism. Helen was also offered the opportunity to study an unconditionally foundations arts course but she decided to test her ambitions to become a broadcaster on a gap year in Ghana. It was here she worked on a 24 hour radio stations. The radio station was extremely difficult as it was announced bankrupt on arrival. Despite this Helen produced two radio features and a documentary on her experiences and travels to Ghana, Burkina Faso, Togo and Mali.

On returning to this country the experience of being in Africa had instilled values into Helen which she felt was increasingly important to explore so she attended The University of Chester to study a BSc Hons International Development Studies and Multimedia. This opportunity leads Helen to travel to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, New York and Geneva to visit the United Nations. Accompanying all these experiences Helen documented them through photographs.
On arrival to Ravensbourn Helen was inspired by the Ma in Environmental Design as it reflected one of Helens dreams to give something back to communities. She is empowered and often touched by the thought of doing something ethical by others and has reached a point in her life where she want to feel like she is giving something back to society. Whether that is in the UK or abroad.

Helen is an extremely determined individual who continually looks forward for new ways of thinking and developing. She chose Ravensbourne to be apart of a network of professionals and hopes that the Ma will give her the direction and knowledge to go forward into industry.
